PowerQuick® Product Line PQ 500-1 PQ 500AX PQ 500 TR PQ 300TC You asked for it--We built it. We constantly strive to meet the needs of our customers in providing the highest possible convenience and increased safety for work-at-height professionals. Based on input from our customers, the recently expanded PowerQuick Product line offers new climbing solutions for a variety of industry challenges. The original workhorse of the PowerQuick collection operates like a personal elevator for those times when just getting up and down from a work site or moving equipment is important. The PQ500-1 features: 500-pound capacity designed for rescue and industrial applications.
For use in potentially explosive atmospheres Certificate # TRL08ATEX 31138X This new PowerQuick model was developed at the request of Shell especially for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. It recently completed testing at TRL Laboratories in the UK. The ascender received ATEX certification for use in hazardous atmospheres as follows:
Equipment Group 2 - is defined as equipment that is intended for use in areas where an explosive atmosphere is likely to occur in normal operation and must ensure a high level of protection. Ex - Explosion proof in accordance with ATEX. The PQ 500-AX version has all the features of the PQ 500 with the exception of the remote control. The remote control cannot be used in hazardous atmospheres. We are very pleased to be able to add this version to our product line at is will be very valuable for many on-and off-shore oil rig customers as well as others who may need to work in a hazardous environment. This new version of the standard PowerQuick 500 ascender was designed especially for our Tower customers. It features a hardwired Remote Control which allows the ascender to be used above the head with a seat board or chair and a spreader bar as shown on the left. The manual descent function is controlled by a lanyard which is passed through the spreader bar and is just above the operator's head. This again ensures that under no circumstance will a person be stranded on the rope in the case of a dead battery or other loss of power. This configuration can be very handy for construction and maintenance work or any type of work were a person need to have the front clear for work access.
PQ 300-TC with New On-Board Battery The PQ 300-TC was designed for military and police tactical use and for tight quarter applications where using the larger standard battery could be inconvenient or where quick response is required. This unit can be pre-loaded with the battery reducing response time in the case of an emergency. Simply attach the rope, hit the power button and go. The PQ300-TC is equipped with a holder for an on-board battery. The climbing time is reduced from an average of 700 feet (213.3m) per charge to approximately 160 feet (49m) per charge. It will also operate with the standard battery for training or operations. This unit is rated for 300 pounds and climbs at a rate of 1 ft per second. It comes standard with a capstan sized for 11mm static kernmantle or 8mm spectra rope. The unit uses the same frame and configuration as the PQ 500 and when using the standard battery it lifts the same weight. It is tested to the same safety parameters. When using the on-board battery we rated the unit at 300 pounds to allow longer climb times and increased speed. As with the PQ 500, it is certified to hold on rope in excess of 2500 pounds, so it can descend with a much greater load than the 300 pounds. This allows for greater operational flexibility. The actual safe descent load depends on the rating of the selected rope. Always follow manufacturer’s specifications for the rope. In the 8mm configuration it can be used with the ResQmax launcher line. For more information on the ResQmax line launcher go to www.resqmax.com For More Information Contact: |
