General Maintenance

  1. All parts of the PowerQuick Powered Personal Ascender and other equipment affecting safe operation shall be maintained in proper working order so that they may perform the functions for which they were intended. The equipment must be taken out of service when any part is not in proper working order.
  2. All equipment is used must be, inspected and maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Provisions shall be made for the retirement of equipment as necessary.
  3. Establish and monitor a procedure to ensure all items of equipment are inspected before each use.
  4. Ensure that equipment is protected from damage during the course of its use.  
  5. Inoperative Safety Devices. No person shall render a required safety device or electrical protective device inoperative, except as necessary for tests, inspections, and maintenance. Immediately upon completion of such tests, inspections and maintenance, the device shall be restored to its normal operating condition.  

Cleaning

  1. Controls,  power contacts and relays shall be kept clean.
  2. Keep ascender clean of debris. Inspect and clean rope prior to each use and periodically during use. This is particularly important when the ascender is used in dirty environments.
  3. Inoperative Safety Devices. No person shall render a required safety device or electrical protective device inoperative, except as necessary for tests, inspections, and maintenance. Immediately upon completion of such tests, inspections and maintenance, the device shall be restored to its normal operating condition.
